Scholarships for International student at UGA? Hi, i'm a prospective international undergraduate transfer student (phew.. long title) for UGA (psychology). It's my dream school and i really (REALLY) want to get in and study there. I've been searching around for scholarships/grants or such but haven't found any that would be much real help. I'm from the Philippines, 3.5 gpa, graduated high school with an International Baccalaureate diploma, fluent in english and i also do sports and arts (mostly performing arts) Can someone please give me details/info on this/scholarship websites? The website of UGA really doesn't say much.. i'm hoping to just lessen the tuition so it'll be less of a burden (just like everyone else.. i guess) My councilor isn't much help either. All he says is that there's none and doesn't discuss it with me any further... also, if anyone knows any ways i can get financial aid outside of UGA, please tell me! That'd be great! oh, the tuition for out-of-state students is $27,000.... Thanks in advance! @keitha: Thanks for the details but i can't use that site.. It says that it's not available in my country :( any more suggestions? @vivienne: Thanks for that! I already have an account in fastweb. Though it recommends a lot of scholarships, there are rarely any that apply to me. The other scholarship websites are only for american citizens, which i am not. thanks anyway!
Study Abroad Grants/Scholarships For A High School Student? I am currently a junior in high school. For my senior year I am trying to participate in a foreign exchange program with OGSHS (Osaka Girls Senior High School) in Japan. The program is relatively cheap, and because it is cheaper than most (such as Rotary or AFS ect.) they are unable to provide financial assistance at this time. The program will cost me around 11,300 Dollars for one year. I have a job and am trying to save up as much money as I can, however I have daily expenses which eat up most of that small income. I have been searching and trying to find scholarships, grants, and sponsorships for months now, and I've gotten no where. This is very important to me, and I need help finding a way to make this happen. I've searched for scholarships for international students or studying abroad. Yet the only information I find is for College students wishing to study abroad. If anyone has a solution or advice as to how I can find funding, please share. Rotary is my secong option. but i liked OGSHS.
Can anybody give a detailed report on scholarship for undergraduate degree in the U.S.? Hi. I just completed my higher secondary schooling (aka 12th grade) from India, and I'm looking forward for higher education in the U.S. I'm about to write the TOEFL and SAT exams in a few months, but before that I want to know which are the universities granting scholarship to international students, and how to get the scholarship (is there a particular scholarship exam or something?) I want to get a degree in engineering or, animation, not quite sure. But please do fill me about the scholarship thingy. Thanks a lot!
Where do I apply for student grants or scholarships? I'm from Utah but now live in England on a spouse visa. I've been here for about 6 months and planning to go to University here. As an international student I'm required to pay all of the fees out of my own pocket. I've been searching the internet in regards to applying for any sort of grant to help bring these expensive fees down. Does anyone have any experience in this or know of a good starting point? It seems like there are a few websites to apply to but I'm concerned these sites are just after my details and will offer no real grants or information. Thanks in advance for all your help.
USA scholarships for an international student? I have always dreamt to study in the USA. I am smart and I have a good academical record. I have no funds to pay for the college. How do I get a scholarship or a grant? Or at least a loan? Thank you
Grants for international students? One friend of mine wants to come to US for college, but she's worried about financial aid. First, she doesn't have "world class" grades to get full ride scholarship. Second, her family is either rich enough to afford four years of college study. So she wants to go to community college first, then try to get as much scholarship and grants as she could. But she wonders: 1. what kind of requirements would those grants and scholarships have? Grades? or None? 2. what about living cost? is there any program or scholarships that could help you on living cost? Thank you for your answer!
International student! Can't afford US college... now what? I got into top public colleges (Michigan, Gatech, and Illinois), but due to my international status, would not be receiving grants/scholarships from them. Is there any way I can finance my education as I really want to study here? I'd be grateful if anyone could name good private sponsors, for example. I am an Indian student residing in UAE.
International student Loan for graduate school...? I am currently studying in the USA and I am expected to graduate in 2011 as an electrical engineer. Even though i am satisfied with my education, I would like to go to a graduate school to learn more about renewable energy. The problem however, i do not have funds (and I do not want to ask more money to my parents since they paid way a lot of money on my education). I was hoping that i can find a private loan that can help me out. From my many searches online, I found that to get the loan, an international student needs to have a cosigner otherwise you cannot. I was wondering if there is any possibility to have a loan without a cosigner. I have a social security number as well as any other personal identification information in case this can help me out. Also, since i will be a graduate level student, I will likely have some grants/scholarships that can reduce my education cost. Also, I will be hopefully working as a teacher assistant and I hope that I will need a very small loan that i can pay in less than 2 years. Any suggestion? Please send me an email at perspicuous@yahoo.com Hope that this does not sound picky but those of you who are giving contact email addresses with no name, how do you want me to trust you? Sorry guys but I wanted a trusted company with a website where you can find more info

International Student to Join ROTC in Uni of Richmond.? I'm a 18-year-old student from Malaysia who has completed high school education, and University of Richmond is currently of my top options for furthering my studies in the USA for the fall 2012 intake. I really hope I as an international student can major in the Military Studies & Leadership course offered in the university. The problem now is that this course seems to be intertwined with the ROTC program of the United States, and are catered mainly to US citizens only. Well, I'm not a US citizen, I don't have any dual citizenship, yet I really want to study this course AND major in it, because I'm actually passionate in the field of military science and strategies, and I'm delighted to discover that such a course is offered in Uni of Richmond. Can someone tell me what do I have to do? I've checked a few sources on the Internet, including here on Yahoo! Answers, that said international students are indeed eligible for ROTC, but they didn't leave a clear answer as to whether I'll have to serve in the US Army upon graduation, or citizenship issues as well. So I'm still confused. One more thing about ROTC; this program grants full scholarships to successful or prospective applicants. Assuming that I don't need or want the scholarship, and I can submit proof that my parents/guardians can pay the necessary expenses covered, what do I do to tell the relevant authorities? And to cite a paragraph from the Uni of Richmond's undergraduate catalog on the Military Science & Leadership courses..."Military science and leadership classes may be taken by all University students. Class enrollment in the military leadership classes carries no U.S. Army commitment and there is no obligation to enroll for successive course offerings. College and/or commissioning credit may be awarded for prior military service, attendance at the ROTC Leader's Training Course, or Junior ROTC participation. International students desiring to attend military science and leadership classes must have written approval from their respective embassies prior to taking classes." What does this paragraph exactly mean? Can someone experienced please dissect the info contained here and give me a clearer picture? I'll really appreciate it. Thanks, and sorry for the long story here. I really do want to attend the course, and major and earn a degree in it, not just attend classes for fun. And based on the course structure provided, it seems that if you do not participate in the ROTC physical and leadership activities, the course won't seem complete. Please offer wise comments. Hope someone who is involved in the ROTC program or people who have experience in such matters can offer their opinions and comments.
Scholarships/grants for Filipinos who wish to study abroad? What are some international and even Filipino groups that offer all kinds of scholarships and/or grants to Filipinos (undergraduate studies)? I particularly hope to study in Spain. Does the Spanish government also fund international students?
How should international students apply for financial aid? Since international students cannot apply using the FAFSA, how can they apply for financial aid? By aid, I mean need-based grants, not scholarships or loans. Some colleges use institutional aid. But the institutional aid form that calculates your estimated family contribution asks for a social security number and info from a U.S. tax return (eg. 1040EZ etc.). So how can an international student calculate his/her need using the institutional aid form?
I need money for college, international student!? I currently live in the US but next year I'm going to the UK for university and I need money! Does anybody know of any scholarships or grants that are given out to US students studying out of country?
scholarships, grants and financial aid...help? does anyone know any site on scholarships, grants or how any form of financial aid can be obtained?? i'm specifically looking for scholarships or grants for international undergraduate students...any idea? and fastweb doesn't seem to be of any help!
Do International Students get scholarships in the USA, apart from the one offered by the College ? I am an Indian student studying at New York University. My question is that do international students get external scholarships in the US, apart from the ones offered by the College. My college has offered my a $5,000, which is good. But even after the scholarship, i have to pay majority of the Tuition from my own pocket. And i am finding it really hard to survive as International Students are not allowed to work in the US, except On-Campus. So do you guys know of any websites or any organizations that will grant me a scholarship or help me pay some part of my college tuition. If YES, please share the information with me.
International student financing Australia? Basically, I'm looking into the possibility of moving from England to go to University in Australia, I will be studying physiotherapy. Now here's the catch, the only thing thats putting any doubt in my mind is purely financing. The NHS (at the moment at least) cover student tuitions, and provide a grant for medical students, now no doubt the government will take this out with the NHS reform. However I'm going to immigrate to Australia once this degree is finished whether that be at home or in Australia. My question is this...is anyone currently in Australia as an international student from England, and is able to tell me what kind of scholarships I should be looking at, the chances of being accepted onto a scholarship, and how much roughly are student loans in Australia? Or alternatively if you just have some rough knowledge of the area that would be grand. Thanks
How can international student to get funding for a PhD in the USA? Hello. I have a bit of a problem. I have a girlfriend who is incredibly awesome, and she wants to come back to the USA with me to get her PhD. However, we aren't rich, and can't afford the costs of graduate schools. I've looked everywhere and can't find any scholarships or grants or fellowships that are awarded to non-citizens or non-permanent residents. I was under the impression that lots of international students got to study in the US. How do they do it? Are they just rich? Am I missing something? Any help that anyone can offer would be a life-saver. Thank you very much.
Are there any options for an international graduate student loan if my school does not have a school code? I'm American and starting graduate school in January in London, UK. My school is a private Business school and it does not have a school code. This means that I cannot apply for Federal student aid through the government, or fill out a FAFSA. I've tried applying for private student loans through Sallie Mae and Wells Fargo, but they will not let me apply either because there is no school code. I've tried scholarship/grant searches but there is simply far too much irrelevant information to sort through due to the specificity of my situation. I need a loan for about $50,000. I've looked into personal loans but I would need to start paying it back immediately which I cannot do. Does anybody know of any other options? ANY information would be helpful! The school is The European Business School London, which is part of Regent's College. http://www.ebslondon.ac.uk/
Getting student loan for international student? My aim is to study in USA but I desperately need financial help. My parents are not willing to support my education further than the Diploma I am currently getting and will not allow anyone in the family to be my guarantor/cosigner. I am working very hard to achieve good SATs grades at the moment, hoping that it can at least help me get some grants/scholarships. However, I fear that might not be enough as tuition and living costs for foreign students are expensive. Please, no answers to tell me to stay in my country as there is only one university which offers the relevant course I am studying and I want to enter a good University in hopes of starting a better life. If anyone knows of a reliable organisation or way I can apply for loans without a cosigner, I would be grateful. I have no credit record (no credit card). Of course, the loan must be applicable to foreigners and not limited to citizens of a certain country. I am 19 and will be 20 or 21 by the time I enter Uni. Thanks! The only reason why there is 1 Uni offering that major is because there are only 4 universities in my country. One is fully dedicated to Business. Another is private and costs as much to study overseas anyway. The other has a course which is somewhat like the major I'm doing but too diluted and in actual fact, not relevant. Hence my reason for wanting to study overseas. Most of my seniors and friends are going Australia though, but it is not a choice I want to make.
does anybody know of any scholarships for international students? i completed my first year of university as a foreign exchange student in iowa and now that i am back my family is very under financed and cannot afford college and my country does not give any sort of financial aid or grants, so i want to try and go back to iowa as an international student and complete my studies does anybody know how i can get a full scholarship to a school in iowa? i am studying business and i will be starting my 2nd year (if i can get to go to college) any help will be highly appreciated.. please do not refer me to any websites because i have tried them!

If you are/were an international student in U.S., please help...? I'm an 18-year-old Chinese girl, and I came to the U.S. to study in a college in New York State last fall. My family never approves my plan of studying in the U.S., and they've cut off their financial support. I won't have enough money to even survive this year. Although I got a half-tuition scholarship from my college, I still have to pay a lot. I can't afford to continue at my current college and have been applying to transfer. I can only attend schools that offer a full-ride scholarship to me, but such chances are really slim. Could I find sponsors or outside grants? How? I don't even know where I'm gonna be this summer. Could I study abroad on a full scholarship? I would really appreciate your telling me any means that I can continue to stay in the U.S. Thanks a lot!!!
Need-based Scholarship? I am considering Savannah College of Art and Design to pursue a bachelors of arts in game development. I come from a family of 12 members and the annual household income for my family is US$28,530. The tuition for the academic year at SCAD is US$24,390. The situation here is I am an international student, and the limitation in granting me a scholarship seems to be the major an obstacle on my way. I need an expert advice on how to get through my application for a scholarship that will cover the tuition and living expenses.
AID for Future International Transfer Student to USA. ? I plan to go to the US for my junior/senior years as a transfer for my undergraduate degree. I plan to go to California and take a shot at the better universities there; like USC, Stanford, Berkeley, Caltech, Calstate. Please advise/answer. Thanks.

Do you know any grants for international students i can apply? I have heard that sometimes PhD students do not pay for their education and get scholarships. But I do not know on what condition. NYU scholarships for international students? Hi, I'm currently about to enter university to study mathematics at undergraduate level in the UK (I'm a British citizen) however I want to go to NYU for graduate study in approx. 3 years. My problem is I come from a very low income family and there is just no way I could afford it! Because I come from a low income family I get the maximum loan and grant from the UK government and this enables me to attend University over here, but does anyone know what financial aid possibilities I have for study in the USA? I know that loans and grants from the US government are for US citizens only, but are there any scholarships (NYU based or private) that I can apply for? I have had straight A's all my way through school and have always had glowing recommendations from all my teachers. All help will be greatly appreciated!!
Is there a scholarship grant for International Medic students in Canada? I got to know - that for straight A's pre-uni International students - is offered a grant in term of full scholarship by the Canadian government or so - only incase they become Canadian citizen and serve the Canadian people and government for rest of thier life after they become full fledge doctors. Incase they flee after grad thus their medical school will forfeit thier practising license and damage thier profile. Is this true ---

I'm an excellent student (N1 in class), and i've played tennis for about 5 years, but not professionaly, but still, let me know if that might help. Financial aid for international student..doubts!? Im an italian girl, my mum's obtained an H1B working visa (2010-2013) so I'll move in NY and studyng out there. I knew that as an international student I can't have financial aid or grants scholarships!True? Well, I've contacted some college in Brooklyn and I've ask info about tuition and fees: publics college (Baruch and Brooklyn college) says me that the total amount is about $12700,67 without any possible financial aid or scholarship. privates college (st.Francis, St.Joseph's) says me that tuition and fees are about $17600,00, I couldn't have any federal financial aid but that they offer some grants or partial scholarship! Now....I dont understand!Which is the truth?and Which is the most convenient for me?
Im going to study in Germany. Im in desperate need of scholarship money or grants (loans too) PLEASE help.? Im really putting my heart ans soul out here. Im trying to find all the money I can to put myself into college. But its not any college I want, I want to be an international student in Germany. I speak german and wish to go to one specific college. The Goethe Universität in Frankfurt, Germany. Ive searched every end of the internet for scholarships and grants and competitions. I have a fastweb a zinch a scholarshippoints account and many more. They are are great, but my chance of getting something is very slim. I didnt want to resort to a student loan, but I finally made the decision that I should do it and ease my financial worries. I have no credit and the only loan I could find is a non private loan (a federal loan like FAFSA) and this doesnt apply to me because im not going to a college in the USA. I cant get a private loan because no one will co-sign. Ive looked into the website of the college I want to attend and they dont offer any scholarships. Ive looked into loans in Germany also, but its not possible because of the co-signer thing also. The banks find me to be a risk and dont want to give me a loan because I would be a forgeiner. Im absolutely desperate to get money. I want this like Ive never wanted anything before. I have worked my ass off to try to even make this possible, and I thought that it was in reach. Does ANYone have any details or info, I would worship the groud that you walked on if you could help me in any way. Thank you very much
Scholarships for studying in England? I'm hoping that I'll be able to attend an English university (my top pick of the moment is the University of Manchester) when the time comes. However, the financial part of it has me worried. I'm finding very few scholarships for international students and I don't want to rely on loans since I have to pay those back. Now my question is this: do you think some scholarships, grants, bonds, etc. that I could earn here in the US would be able to be converted for use internationally?
What types of financial aid do I apply for if I am going to study Internationally? I am a US citizen that is going to study Industrial Design at Florence Design Academy in the 2010-2011 year. First off, I did some research and FDA looks like a pretty awesome school but some confirmation and reassurance about it would be greatly appreciated :) anyways, I am trying to see if there is any sort of International Financial aid (scholarships, student loans, grants etc.) that I could apply for. my parents are not going to be helping me with any of the finances, and any information would help. Thanks :)
Are there any grants/scholarships available for international students? My friend wants to come and study in USA. He wants to get a MS or PHD in Health Informatics. I want to know if there are any grants or scholarships that my friend can apply to. If yes, where can I find more information. Also I heard (not sure if it is true) that some university do offer grants/scholarships to International students. If somebody knows which university do offer grants/scholarship for their Health informatics program, can you let me know.
I'm an International Student who studies broadcast journalism course in UK. Where can I find sponsorship? I came to study my A-levels course, because I won scholarship in Russia. After finishing my 2-year course it was senseless to go back to my country without any degree. Also, I really like UK and dream to become an international journalist. Unfortunately, fees for international students are ridiculously expensive, I managed to afford my first year, but my second and third are coming and I don't have money. My Uni doesn't offer any scholarships for international students (it's not business school, which does offer some). I'm just doing my BA therefore even though there are MA grants - they don't really apply for me. So maybe someone can suggest me what to do, or knows some people who can offer me sponsorship (I'm keen on doing journalistic work for them afterwards), or maybe charity organisations, scholarships. Any help is appreciated. Also, my e-mail address is katflorida26@yahoo.com. If you don't want to put some information on this public service, just e-mail me personally.
How can an international student pay for graduate school in the US? Is it only possible if they come from a rich family? What about students from poor countries? Are there any scholarship or grant options for an international student looking to complete a PhD in Computer Science in California/elsewhere in the US? MS in Computer Science has already been completed.

Financial Aid for International Students? I'm from the US and going to be studying in the UK. I need to find financial aid to help me out because the tuition and fees for international students is ridiculously high, and will also cost me more in the longrun because of the exchange rate. Can I find financial aid from the UK government, or can I only get it from my own government? I would prefer to apply for grants and scholarships, and loans if necessary. Does anyone know of some good websites for financial aid?

financing graduate school? I have a friend from Japan who is in their 2nd year of graduate school here in the U.S. The problem is that they don't know if they can afford to complete their Masters. They only have a few more credits to complete but not enough to qualify as a full time student. My research shows that very few scholarships & grants exist in the U.S. for international students. As I've already looked for other scholarships and the like, is there any other way I can help my friend?
All about France and the French educational system. (MBA Prospect)? Hi Everyone, I am currently living in the United States and would really love to Study for my MBA in France. The Problem is I know nothing about the educational system there. Though I have done a couple researches as to find out about reputable schools out there, it seems like a daunting task right now. There are some questions I would like answered: - I was told that education in France is free; I don’t know if that is true for only French and, EU citizens or if it applies to international student too. -Can an international student get scholarship or some kind of aid/grant? - What is it like for a black foreigner in France? - What is the cost of living like—(pick a state) in comparison to a state like California? -The same question applies to getting a job out there. So, if there anyone out there with some knowledge of the French higher educational system, Kindly respond please. Any help would be highly appreciated. Yes, I do have 2 bachelors degree in computer info systems and Journalism. I am African by birth also a Citizen of the United States so, I have dual citizen from 2 countries. Though, I don't know how that would pan out. I thought most schools teach in English for higher level programs? Thanks for the response thus far though.
my sisters and i are triplets with no college financial aid because we are international students.? we have applied for numerous scholarships and grants but we didn't hear any respond from most of them. the ones that have responded have aslo denied us. we were accepted into great colleges but we have no choice than to stay go to a community college because of our ineligiblity for financial aid. paying for our college is hard on us since we have to work almost everyday and go to school. we have tried many things like writing letters to corporations, organizations, wealthy people and so many other things but we didn't hear any responds. we don't even know how we can all get to graduate school if we can't pay for undergraduate. what else can we do?
FAFSA.. several questions.? I am currently an international student who will be entering a college this fall. I am expected to have my permenant residency (green card) during my first year of college, so I am thinking that I'd be able to complete FAFSA for my second year of college. Here are some questions I have. 1) Is there any disadvantage I would get for not being able to apply for financial aid my first year? 2) I heard that roughly 80% of educational costs is covered (20% loan I assume?) if my EFC comes out to be 0. Is this true (If I am wrong, please correct)? I know that it differs from colleges to college. 2a) Is there significant difference between private and public universities in their offer of scholarship/grant? 3) Cal grant - do they help students who attend Out of State colleges? Please feel free to give me any extra informations on FAFSA.
Scholarship funds in the US? I have a friend whom lives oversea and her daughter score very well at middle school. She had also attended lots of extracurricular activities and an outstanding English knowlege and has had a lot of degrees and qualifications etc,. She has just received a financial aid from an independent school in NYC, but that grant only offer the absolute tuition, not living expenses. Her parents are normal officers so they can't afford it. Are there any scholarship funds in the US for high-school-international students? Also(you do not have to answer it but please try your best), what are responsible online websites which provide homestay/host family services in nyc? Thank you
