24 year old newly married Arkansas woman looking for college scholarships or grants.? Hi, I'm currently looking for information on how to get college grants or scholarships for me. I have been using stocks for a couple of years and pretty much started getting serious about my college classes. I have a 2.5 g.p.a. I just got married last week. I'm 24, living in Arkansas, and working part time. My husband is currently on unemployment. I'm going for my associates of science degree and afterward going for the next step to go towards an x-ray technician position. More likely an Bachelors degree. Enough babbling off me, please, I'm running out of stock money and I really need help and information. If anyone has any information, that will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance, Tami Pruett
Does Anyone Know Where I Can find College Grants And Scholarships? I will be a freshman. I am attending Virginia Commonwealth University. My major is business but I'm studying to be a dentist. I am 17yrs old but I have been out of school for a year. I went through the typical Fastweb, Cappex, and many others. I am looking but I am not finding anything I'm eligible for. If you can help I would really appreciate it. Thanks.
College grants and scholarships? I'm a high school student and am interested in looking for grants, financial aid, and scholarships for college. Lists of websites would be appreciated. Thanks.
College Grants & Scholarships? I am a senior in high school applying to Ohio State. I have been looking all over the internet for scholarship and grant websites. Every scholarship I find requires: -community service -an race other than white -being disabled -being a grown woman going back to college etc, etc, etc! I am a great student, top 15% in my class rank, I've never had a job and i have zero community service, I am a first generation college student in my family. Are there any grants/scholarships for me?!
Native American College Grants/Scholarships? Hi, I am an enrolled member of the Menominee tribe in Wisconsin. I'm going to be a college freshman this fall, and I'm having trouble finding funding for my tuition (since it's a private college it's very expensive). My EFC is too high since my dad makes too much.. which ruins my chances of getting a Pell Grant or any need based grant. The problem is that my parents never set up a college fund for me and are NOT helping me in ANY WAY. Everything is on me- tuition...books...supplies... room and board..also I'll be living on my own so I'll have to come up with some way to eat... but anyway, I've always been told, (and even when I tell people how much help I need now) that there "is a lot of money out there for Native Americans in grants" I am getting a small about from my tribe and from the BIA (Bureau of Indian Affairs)...but that's it. It's around 2,000 but that's it... I need much MUCH more help than that. Does anyone know of any grants/scholarships specifically for Native Americans (or Native Americans going into education or art?) Actual names would be helpful since all I ever get is "there's a lot out there.." okay, where??
Any college grants/scholarships for adults with Asperger's syndrome? Are there any college grants or scholarships given out specifically to adults with autism or Asperger's syndrome? I'm eighteen and from Virginia, USA. When I was sixteen, I obtained my GED diploma after dropping out of high school for a couple of years (I'd dropped out solely because of Asperger's -- my inability to socialize/cope within a 2,500-student school.) I'm not good with emotion, public speaking or confrontation, but I am a quick learner and could do very well in specific job fields. College is my next step forward, I suppose, but I'm not sure where all to apply for grants. If it helps, my GED scored within the 99th percentile in the nation, and I hold the record for the highest GED score in my county. My family's income is very low as well.
Where can I find College Scholarships and Grants? My daughter is a Junior in high school and is active in band , newpaper , NHS and is 24th in her class of 490. I've heard something about this and I was wondering if anybody could give me some more information about it?? THANK YOU!!!
I need help finding legitimate grants/scholarships for college can someone help? I need help finding legitimate grants/scholarships for college can someone help? I have tried going to Google and looking and the only thing i come up with are pages wanting you to join schools etc. I am getting a Bachelor's Degree at an online college. I am looking for grants to help fund my remaining college degree instead of just taking out loans. Can anyone help, all the grants and scholarship websites i keep pulling up are fake and are just trying to get you to sign up for all kinds of different things. grants, scholarships and general college questions? I am a senior in high school and am graduating this semester. I took my SAT and will receive my scores in about a week. I plan on attending the University of West Georgia. I need to know: 1) Do I need to wait until I get my SAT scores to apply for colleges, grants and scholarships? Or can I start doing that now? 2) My GPA is below 3.0 right now. By the end of this semester it should be above that. BUT I will have to apply for college in November and my grades for the current semester won't show up on my transcripts. Does this mean all the colleges I apply to will not even see my current semester and not include the grades I have now? 3) I am going to apply for the Pell Grant and need to know what exactly does that cover? I know it depends on my parents income, but will it cover my living expenses if I choose to live on campus? if so, is that all it will cover? 4) I currently attend Faith Academy high school. One of the teachers advised me to have scores of my SAT sent to them via the college board website. Faith Academy did not show up on the list of places I could have my scores sent to. does this mean I should/will have to have my scores and transcript sent separately? As in, I will have to send colleges my SAT scores through college board and my transcripts through my high school. answers and helpful information I should know would be greatly appreciated! Thank you, Zach
College Grants and Scholarships...where to find them? What are some good resources online or otherwise to pusue as much government funding, grants, scholarships, etc. for a person who comes from a family who can't support the college dream, and unfortunately cannot do so well on his own. Don't want to be paying 300k in loans when I am out and only making 60k a year, on top of a mortgage, and every other cost of living expense. how do people like us manage to get an education and help with pursuing their dreams. i know there is FAFSA, and the military GI Bill, which I get, but it is still not helping much.
Are there any college scholarships or grants for exconvicts? And if you know of any can you throw out the link to it, it would be very appreciated. lol, i forgot to say that I'm not the convict. College Grants and scholarships. PLEASE HELP? My dad suddenly sprung this rule on me where i have to have three college grants filled out by the end of each week or i get my laptop and car keys taken away from me until the next friday. It's tuesday and he just told me, and i need to get to work on the weekends. Please help me find college grants or tell me where find those things.
college grants or scholarships that PAY you to go to college? My husband and I are trying find a way for him to go back and continue his education. We have 2 young children, and it would be very tough on us financially if he were to quit work altogether to go back to school and I be the only source of income. I had a friend who had a free ride through college (state university) and she also got PAID somehow, albeit it a small amount, every semester to go. What's the likelihood of my husband actually getting paid to go back to school? If so, how much could it be? Do grants and scholarships only cover up the amount of tuition/books, or are there some out there that will extend beyond that to help out the family?? (We live in SC, and will NOT be able to contribute any money out of pocket towards tuition. He DOES have a loan that he can "reopen" from his previous attempt to finish schooling.) Any specific grants and scholarships would be GREAT!! And websites! Thanks!!
college grants or scholarships for children with deceased and/or disabled parents? My father passed away from a massive heart attack, when my little sister was only 5 months old. Because it was so sudden he did not have the chance to leave anything to her in his will. He had some life insurance but they didn't have much value. She received survivors' benefits up until June after she turned 18 but that was used to provide for her because our mother did not work. My mother worked for a short time long before my sister was born, but because of tax reasons my father didn't want her to work anymore. Anyway when my sister was about 9 our mother was diagnosed with a heart condition after needing a quadruple bypass. Ever since then our mother's health has declined and she is now fully disabled and receives social security disability. My sister has always been determined to go to college, she's very intelligent, a very hard worker, and never backs down from a challenge(sometimes even stubbornly not doing so). Now she is 20 and she is finally able to go to college. She has helped our mother with attending her doctor appointments because she is the only one who drives. I want to know if there are any college grants or scholarships for children with deceased and/or disabled parents. In which case my sister is a product of both. My father also served the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era, although he was never shipped overseas, he has an Honorable discharge. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks Lyla
college/scholarships/grants and such? hey everyone :) i am entering my senior year of high school in the fall, and ive already started applying for scholarships, since i dont want to be one of the many kids who realize midyear that they still have to. so im doing it over the summer, and focusing on school during school. im not sure how to find the right ones to apply for, so i went to the library and went through a bunch of listings. mostly essay scholarships, since my strength is writing. my questions: (yes theres more than one) i am able to apply and recieve scholarships prior to completing the FAFSA, right? what are the odds of winning a scholarship? both national and statewide .. and im still kind of confused on the difference between a scholarship and a grant. im doing my best to figure it all out, but its hard and some things i still dont understand. any help will be greatly appreciated :) thank you

How to get money for college... Scholarships/Grants? I have been looking for a job but it's hard to find one especially in the town I live in. I don't have any money to go to college and I really want to. I just graduated from high school and want to start college as soon as possible. I have tried looking/applying for scholarships and none of them have ever responded. I have applied to at least 500 scholarships, I don't know what else to do. My mom's in the Navy but isn't willing to help me pay for school. And I guess they have new rules with the G.I. Bill, she says that she is not going to be able to use it for another 10 years. I'm still looking for a job (that's one thing I have not gave up on). But until I find one I'm going to need other suggestions. Ms. Johnson, I tried the financial aid thing but I'm still my moms dependent and they wont give me much. Don't they expect a certain amount before you graduate or a month? I don't even have two dimes to rub together.
Does anyone know how I can get college housing scholarships/grants? I originally went to a University in NYC. Due to problems at home, I came home for a year. Also, what about internships or jobs in the Manhattan area that supplies housing? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
