Study Abroad Grants/Scholarships For A High School Student? I am currently a junior in high school. For my senior year I am trying to participate in a foreign exchange program with OGSHS (Osaka Girls Senior High School) in Japan. The program is relatively cheap, and because it is cheaper than most (such as Rotary or AFS ect.) they are unable to provide financial assistance at this time. The program will cost me around 11,300 Dollars for one year. I have a job and am trying to save up as much money as I can, however I have daily expenses which eat up most of that small income. I have been searching and trying to find scholarships, grants, and sponsorships for months now, and I've gotten no where. This is very important to me, and I need help finding a way to make this happen. I've searched for scholarships for international students or studying abroad. Yet the only information I find is for College students wishing to study abroad. If anyone has a solution or advice as to how I can find funding, please share. Rotary is my secong option. but i liked OGSHS.

study abroad grants? I'm trying to do a high school study abroad during my junior year to Japan. But money is the only thing that is in my way. I have looked at many grants and scholarship, but I really don't know which one is best for me. I have gone to grants.gov and registering there was very confusing but I am still trying. In grants.gov it said that they can give grants to individual. Does anyone think that the government would be willing giving grants to someone who wants to go study outside of the United States? Or has anyone has this experience trying to get grants from the government for this reason? Please share.

Erasmus/Study Abroad Scholarships? Hi, I live in the U.S. and I'm on a semester abroad in France. I know I'm technically not Erasmus, but since every other exchange student here is European, I was just told to consider myself as Erasmus. Anyways, I knew from the begining that 4 months was not enough. Now I know for sure. I am absolutely in love with this place, and I need to spend at least one more semester. Only problem is the Americans receive absolutely no money to do this program (unlike all the european students), and I really can't afford another semester out of pocket. Does anyone know of a scholarship i could apply for? Im not eligible for the erasmus grant since i'm not european, so I need something. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How to pay (loans, grants, etc) for 2-week study abroad trip? In May, my professor is taking some of us on a trip to Poland for our Holocaust history class. The trip is about $2.5k a student. It's listed under our "study-abroad" program. The problem is, I'm trying to look for grants and loans and scholarships to help pay for my trip, but I don't know where to start. I tried looking for some scholarships but I'm not eligible for most of them because they only fund study abroad trips that are 6-weeks are longer. Does anyone know where I can go to apply for a grant or at least point me in the right direction? I don't want to do a private loan unless that's my absolute only option. Thanks.

Can you answer any of my study-abroad questions? I'm from the USA, and I want to be a exchange student. I'm still in high school, I'm 18, but this is my senior year. Now, I would like to know if anybody can suggest any exchange student programs? If so, please recommend one. I also need some financial aid to go along with this program, and/or grants, scholarships, loans etc. I would like to go to either Sweden, Italy, France, Germany, and Russia. And possibly, if you ever been an exchange student, can you give me any kind of help and tips about it, and can you tell me about your experience? Thanks, I appreciate any kind of help.

Is it inapprpriate to ask teachers for support money for study abroad? I am a junior in high school. I signed up for a study abroad program for Spain for one month. It costs 7000 total. Intern/study abroad in London (scholarship, accommodation question)? Im planning on trying to intern abroad next summer in London but I would need scholarships or grants to help fund it for airfare, housing and things like that. I was planning on using BUNAC because they help you find a place to stay and all that and you only pay a few hundred for the visa and insurance. Does anyone know of scholarships for students who would be interning and not for just a study abroad? Its required in my school curriculum to have a co-op/internship in the summer so i would be getting school credit. And if anyone knew about cheap places for students to stay for the summer or any cheap programs for students interning This are both good so far, but are there any programs that would last only 11 weeks and dont have any courses attached to them? Im on a quarter system at my school so id be free during mid-june to mid- september
I'm trying to study abroad in Brazil for the summer. Does anybody know a good sponsor? I don't qualify for many grants and scholarships. The trip is roughly $4000. I'm currently working and looking for a 2nd job but a sponsor or any other options would be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to go for the experience because I've never been out of the country and for my foreign language credit. Please help. Thank You.
How can I study abroad in London? HELP!!? I am 16, about to be a junior in high school and I really want to study abroad in London for a semester. How can I do that? Where do I start? Also where can I get financial help for it..scholarships, grants?
Funding for French study-abroad program? I've studied French on my own for over 9 years and in addition, studied it in High School for 3.5 years. I've been out of school for almost 6 years now and I'd like to go back, taking 6-12 months of study in France studying their culture and language. Most study-abroad programs I've found for 6-12 months are between $10k and $16k. My problem is that I can't find any grants, or scholarships that might fund me. Both the Fulbright and the Rotary cultural exchange scholarships require college education in the language before even being able to apply. Does anyone have any ideas on where I could go for help? I've registered on fastweb.com and scholarshipexperts.com and neither of them provided scholarships suited to my situation. And I recently found out that federal pell grants wont cover study abroad. Please help me! Thanks.
Where can I find grants/scholarships and aid/help to go back to school? Anybody who would like to contact me? Is there anyone interested in helping a young underprivileged girl to try to do something with her life? I am a girl who is trying to go back to school for Spanish Language and Literature and I hope to be able to do that and study abroad too someday...that has always been my dream...at this point, whether it be Spain, Mexico, or Puerto Rico would be fine with me...but i have to go back to school for the thing that I have always wanted to pursue. I know that there are so many programs, scholarships, grants, aid, funding, help, etc. for underprivileged people, it just sometimes takes some research and I am doing my part daily, believe me, but I figure I would let the internet do some of the research as well. Sometimes even there are senior citizens who would love to donate to underprivileged young people who are trying to do something with their lives, and it may be in a part. field, but either way, there are opportunities for help out there...i am seeking it, it just needs to be found..
How do I pay for religious studies abroad? Are there any scholarships or grants for Americans who want to study abroad? My curriculum would involve fine arts in music (worship) and studies for clergy. I really want to steer away from loans, in case I want to stay indefinately.

I need a scholarship to study abroad... Fast!? Today is March 22, 2010. A spot just opened up on a trip with my university to study abroad in Paris, France, and the money is due by June 1st. It's $2,500... And there's no way I can pay it out of pocket. Other than asking for donations from family and friends, I have no options... Unless I can get a scholarship or grant from an institution somewhere. Does anyone know of anything that might help? Please and thank you!
Should I study abroad for a year? I study law. I can study law abroad on the erasmus programme - don't know if you've heard it - for a year - extending my 3 year course to a 4 course. This would be in Bolgna, Italy at the University of Bologna. Obviously, Italy is a very nice place to be, a nice to travel round, and I get all sorts of funding (no tuition fees, all the grants and loans I currently receive, plus about £6/7000 in other grants/scholarships). I could learn a bit for my final year and learn a language. However, I'm a bit uneasy as I've already taken a gap year - I'm 21 right now - I plan on taking a masters after university, plus I would have to do a year following that on the Legal Practice Course in order to qualify as a lawyer. Many of my friends don't really see the point; it won't really increase my employability for law firms and I'm going to be quite old while they claim they will be getting nice salaries in the meantime. What's your take on this? I'm a bit torn.

Money to Study Abroad - Learn Irish Gaelic or Gaeilge? Hi! I'm an American student, hoping to be able to study abroad in a 4 week program in Ireland to learn some of the language. It's very expensive :-( I was wondering if there were any grants, scholarships or other financial aid options out there - I've done a lot of online searching and talking with an advisor but I can't seem to find anything! Thanks for the help! P.S. My major is totally unrelated (Sciences) I am not planning on mastering the language in four weeks! The trip is also for cultural and historical benefits. The program that I am looking at has continuing education available online if I choose to take that route to get a certificate . . .
will you help me find scholarships and grants? To study abroad in London next semester.... I really wanna do it but don't have the $15,000+ it takes to go.... my college is partnered with another program (AIFS, I think) for this trip and it's a community college... oh, and would my government grants (calgrant and Pell grant) cover some of the cost?
Does anyone know of any International Scholarships/Grants that I can apply for? Hello there, I've been looking to go back to college for the past 2 years and I, unfortunately, didn't have the means to do so. I shifted from Psychology to Nursing when I was still studying because I was one of those people who really didn't know what they wanted to do yet (I was young, go figure). I also didn't really do that well with some of my subjects and it was only because I wasn't really interested in my previous courses even though I know I could do better with the talents and skills that I have. I couldn't help but think that I wasted the opportunity that I had from before, but that's in the past. I'm ready to move on and this time I know what I want and I want to do my best. I'm really into any of the following: creative writing, linguistics (German or French) and international studies/relations. Plus I would love to get a chance to study abroad. So, in line with that, I was wondering if there's anyone who might know of any international scholarships/grants that I can apply for? Any information would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

Does anyone know of scholarships or sponsors that would help me get study abroad in England? My name is Kayla Troutman and I am a junior at the University of Southern Indiana. I am majoring in studio art with a minor in entrepreneurial business, and I currently hold a 3.9 GPA. I graduated as valedictorian with honors from my high school and held a very active extra curricular schedule those four years. After all of my hard work and dedication I have been awarded the chance of a lifetime. This summer I am working toward a goal I have dreamed of for years, the opportunity to study abroad. After researching several universities, I found Harlaxton College in Grantham England to be best suited for my aspirations. Attending this university will give me the chance to discover not only one other culture, but several. Throughout the fall semester there are numerous study trips traveling to places such as Scottland, Ireland, Wales, and further into Paris, Venice, Florence and Rome. Being an art major with a love for life I am eager to explore the cultures and histories that create the charm of each country and its cities. I have already enrolled and been accepted by the school board and am now ready to embark on my adventure. In order to afford such a wonderful opportunity I am seizing every possible income advantage that comes to me. I am currently working for my parents while looking for another job. I fill in as a baby sitter and am organizing yard sales, but even with this combination of efforts I am falling $7,000 short of the financial burden this trip demands. I have a passion for travel and a thirst for knowledge and am determined to make my way to Europe. Therefore, I am asking that you find it within your heart to help me. Any sponsorship donation would be greatly appreciated, and I will be more than happy to report back with pictures, or presentations upon my return. I promise that any favor that is asked would be graciously granted if at all possible. I sincerely hope that one can understand how much this would mean to a woman such as me. One day when my strength is fading, but my memories are strong, I will look back on you with kindness and gratitude knowing that I have lived a full life and accomplished so many goals with the help of generous souls like you. I thank you presently for your time and consideration and hope to meet you in the future with a smile, a set of travel plans, and a thankful heart. God bless you all. Sincerely, Kayla
I want to do foreign exchange and or "study abroad", but I want to do it as a sophmore in high school, it? cant be very expensive. Less than $300, preferrably free. I've been trying to get a scholarship or grant for it but no luck. I need ideas, foreign exchange programs that can work with my high school since my high school doesnt have a program, and I need resources and websites to look into it. Please no unsafe programs and please no cons or fake study abroad programs set out to hurt people. Thanks.
Where do get info on studying abroad funding? I'm a UK student in year 12, and I want to study in the states mainly because i prefer their system to ours. My only problem is that I can't seem to find any decent scholarships, grants etc. I've had a quick look at loans but they seem quite shady. I've contacted the University Of Michigan's finance office (because that's where i want to go) and that was almost no help at all. Where else can i look? possibly loans?
I am trying to fund a study abroad program, any ideas for who I can write grant proposals to? I'm thinking corporations or any big companies (fast food chains, stores, anywhere..) that I might be able to contact so I can try and get grant/scholarship money. Are there any grants or scholarships available for American Students wanting to study abroad? I am a US Navy service member that is about to end my tour and start college in a couple months. My GI Bill covers tuition and housing but my housing allowance is only $1,333 a month. Going to school full time that doesn't leave me many options for employment in the areas that I'm thinking about studying in, which are Seoul, Korea and Oita Japan. Sure $1,333 is enough to live off of but not much else. Are there any grants or scholarship options available for people in my situation?

Study abroad scholarships? Hello, I am going on a high school study abroad trip to Japan with Youth For Understanding USA for the spring semester of 2011 and have been trying to look for some scholarships. My parents are unable to contribute a large amount of money and I am working to save up money for the trip, but I fear I will not have enough money by October. We can be considered for financial aid. Are there any good partial or full scholarships or grants out there I can apply for? Please do not direct me to any of the state.gov websites or anything - I've looked there myself and have not been able to find anything for a high school student. Just a note, I will be a junior in high school at the time of this exchange.
I'M IN HIGHSCHOOL! I NEED SOMETHING FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS. NOT COLLEGE STUDENTS!

What fellowship programs exist for study abroad...? What fellowship programs or grants exist for study abroad that are NOT exceedingly competative (i.e. Fullbright Scholars)? Are there any humanitarian programs that pay for your graduate school abroad in exchange for you interning/working/volunteering overseas? The only thing I've heard of that sounds like this is the Rotarian Ambassadorial Scholarship. Is that a "guaranteed" scholarship, or is it just as competative as the U.S. State Department's programs?
