Help finding grants, loans, anything to offset tuition and college costs? I am a 21 male, currently a Junior in college. I am the *6th* person in a middle-class family to go to college or take classes (est. $80K/year income between parents). Because of this, it has become extremely hard to find student loans due to the number of loans we have already taken out. This includes the use of FAFSA. There are literally thousands of sites out there for scholarships, grants, free money (if there is such a thing nowadays) and everything else to off-set the cost of tuition. Not that im lazy, but I do not want to spend hours writing random essays in hopes of winning some sort of financial reward. I did this before freshman year and had *0* hits. Does anyone know of a GOOD site where you can simply APPLY for scholarships/grants/etc.? YES, I work, but I get paid nothing which would remotely help me in this situation. And my most pressing costs, aside from tuition, are finding funds for a new computer and text books.

Going to a second college (need advice)? Hello, if you want to skip the story read the other paragraph; I am currently attending a college right now, Next year on May I graduate(as a Computer Network Associates)aka (CNS). I want to go to another college to study something else(music). My struggle is that I don't know if it would be beneficial to work part time with the computer area (from CNS degree) to pay the loan from the first college and save for the second college, the problem is that the second college is a full time school. Although I want to study to get the masters or beyond with the second college. If I receive scholarships/interest-free loans, would it reduce the amount of $$ in my financial aid package? I'm going to UCLA next fall. My EFC is 0 so my parents don't have to pay a cent. However, I still have to do $2200 in work-study, $3500 subsidized loan, $2000 6.8% loan, and $1200 5% loan. So if applied for scholarships, would it reduce the gift aid (CAL Grant, Scholarship recognition award, Pell Grant)? I am also looking into applying for interest-free loans. However, I don't know how much I should loan and I don't know if applying for interest-free loans would take away my subsidized Stafford loans or reduce my gift aid.

How do I find a grant for a disabled woman to start a business; that doesn't cost a fee to apply for? I am disabled & am very low income, I am trying to buy a 34 acre property that contains a modern dog kennel & 4 rental homes. Why do you have to pay to buy a grant book yet scholarship searches are free? Whenever I've searched online for grants, I've always gotten a response saying that I have to buy a book full of grants, but I can search all day long for scholarships for FREE. What's up with that? And yes I know that they are two different things but they're all the same: FREE MONEY! One cannot PAY if one DOESN'T have any MONEY!!! Everyone's daddy isn't so rich that they can write a check for tuition and fees...and nobody's even trying to answer this question.

Is it harder to get grants/scholarships to a university if you start off at a community college? Is it harder to get grants/scholarships to a university if you start off at a community college for the first 1-4 semesters? I keep going back & forth and can't decide if I want to go to a community college, or the local university. Tonight I decided I want to start off taking a couple classes at the community college for at least the first semester. Most likely for the first year. Do you think that students with a 3.0 gpa or higher get more financial aid or go to college for free? With the rising of tuition for college and the small amount of financial aid received, I believe that students who actually want to go to college and have a good gpa should be helped more. If you have a 3.0 and higher gpa you should get more grants and scholarships or go to college for free.
