How can international student to get funding for a PhD in the USA? Hello. I have a bit of a problem. I have a girlfriend who is incredibly awesome, and she wants to come back to the USA with me to get her PhD. However, we aren't rich, and can't afford the costs of graduate schools. I've looked everywhere and can't find any scholarships or grants or fellowships that are awarded to non-citizens or non-permanent residents. I was under the impression that lots of international students got to study in the US. How do they do it? Are they just rich? Am I missing something? Any help that anyone can offer would be a life-saver. Thank you very much.

Do you know anything about GRE and PhD scholarship? I am an international student. I have been offered a PhD scholarship by the University of Arkansas. My professor has confirmed my studentship based on my references and resume and university grades. The department has asked me to take GRE general exam. When I asked about the accepted GRE grade, they said they just need the GRE for the file, and there isn't a specific mark they are after. I am really scared of GRE, because of its vocabulary part. Do you think if my GRE marks is terrible and very low, they could reject me? I can't believe they don't care about the mark. How could this be possible. If you have any general information, I would appreciate your help. Any idea welcome!

I'll work for 3 month and my husband will work for 4 months, is this fair deal? We just got married. I am a international PhD student and have scholarship. He was a (national) PhD student too, and had scholarship, but decided to ask for leave of absence. He has not finished his MA thesis and will work on it during the winter term. I am expected to pay for all the bills during the winter term, while he writes, and maybe do some tutoring, which will bring almost nothing to the household in terms of money. He says that he won't have time to work while writing the thesis and will work on the summer. I would not have to work at all during the summer, among other reasons because I get my research fellowship during that period of time... Is this a fair deal? I feel that a men might always want to work, no matter what... Thank you for your answers! I actually talked to him. Exposed my arguments and feelings clearly. Te result? We made a new agreement and sorted out the problem. He'll be working during the winter term, and we'll both work part of the summer, and then, and finally we'll both stop working and do some writing, reading, research and graduate stuff! =)

Any grants for PhD program in Linguistics? Hi everyone) I am from Russia. Two years ago i won Fulbright grant and got MA in Linguistics this year. My GPA is 3.82. I would love to continue my education in the US and get into PhD in Applied Linguistics in UCLA. But tuition is $28.000. There is no way I can earn so much money to cover my education. Do you know any grants for international students i can apply? I have heard that sometimes PhD students do not pay for their education and get scholarships. But I do not know on what condition. Is is possible only for the US residents or for international students too? are there any grants and how i can find them? Thank you;)
PhD with these masters credentials? I'm interested in pursuing my PhD in public health, especially the biomedical aspect of it. I'm particularly interested in the PhD program in Pathobiology at University of Washington, Dept of Global Health. However, I am planning on applying to a lot of different programs and I'm curious as to whether or not it's even worth it with my credentials. In undergrad, I had a 3.4 GPA from a decent large research university, BS in Human Biology with a minor in Medical Anthropology, with tons of extra curricular activities from sports to academic fraternities, with three good LoR. My GRE is okay at best, I am considering retaking it: 640 Q 540 V 4.5 AW. I got accepted into all 8 masters degree programs that I applied to and was even offered scholarships at a few. I settled on a Masters degree in Global Health at a medical school of a top 20 nationally ranked university. I finished all my coursework in one year (normally it takes two years, doubling up the course work has brought down my grades) and now I am going abroad to do my thesis/capstone project in Africa. I will finish with a 3.3 gpa for my Masters, though with good LoR, one of which will be phenomenal. Also I am in the student senate and event coordinator working with the UN and World Health Organization. I also have international experience living abroad, doing research abroad and setting up community health projects in Africa, as well as one research paper that is in the works to possibly be published. I'm disappointed that my GPA has gone down since undergrad, but I have been working sooo hard! I've been putting in 60-80 hours of school, studying, work, research or planning in the last year. Have I sacrificed my chances of getting accepted into a PhD program by trying to get ahead of the game? Let me know if you have any advice/suggestions.
Where do I look for funding for PhD research in lost or rare silent films? I am an MSc student at the University of Edinburgh, and I am currently applying for a PhD programme. I want to write my dissertation on silent film adaptations of Victorian Gothic novels, with a special emphasis on monster characters. I have already done a lot of research on this topic and have realized that I will have to travel to many international film archives to track down lost, rare, or partially lost silent films. This research may prove quite valuable from a historical/preservation perspective as I will be looking for forgotten or neglected films and bringing attention to their aesthetic and film historical value. I have run a basic Google search to look for funds for this work, but have found meager results. What sort societies, foundations, or other organizations may offer grants or scholarships for this type of research?
Can you tell me the steps of admission into PhD in Epidemiology in an University of USA? I am an MBBS doctor in Bangladesh (2004). I did very good result. I have experience in public health in national and international organizations (e.g. MSF - Holland). I enjoyed my previous jobs and love public health carrier. Now I have vision to do PhD in Epidemiology from an American University with full scholarship. Can you tell me the steps?

I have Msc degree and now I am earning a multiple international master degree, anything wrong with that ? I got my first degree in the United States with a full scholarship financing my education. Now, I am planning to do multiple master degrees in four leading European University. Again, my education in this program will be for two years covered completely by scholarship (financing my education, housing, living, insurance, .....). By the end of this program, I will award three Master degrees depending on the Universities that I will attend. Anyway, my planning for the future is to earn a PhD degree to be a university teacher and/or working in a diplomat sector. Therefore, I care about diversifying my background. The current degree that I have is a Master degree in Integrated Science and Technology. The other three will be in Mphi in System Dynamics, Master of Science in Business Administration, and Master of Science in Sustainability Science. Please, I would like to see your comments. Thanks
Life of a physicist...? I am an accounting major who just finished his second year. I am not pleased with my current path and was considering changing my major to physics or math. But I have some doubts and I was wondering if you could help me answer some of my questions. Even though I do find these majors very interesting, I don't really know what I would do with either of these majors though. The most common known path I've hear off is to work for a PhD, and then work at a University and carry out research at that institution. I actually like the idea of teaching and having summers off to carry out research. But how easy is it to get a job at a university? Secondly, I would like to know how much I could expect to make as a physics or math major. I'd be perfectly happy making $60,000. By majoring in math or physics is this possible? Also, would it be easy or hard getting a job by majoring in either field? Thirdly, I would be graduating from a small school as well. Would this affect my possibilities to go to a decent grad school? I am also an international student. I know getting a PhD takes some time and money. Money is not a commodity I have. I have a full scholarship right now. Are there scholarships for student looking to go to grad school and continue their studies in physics or math. I've heard in an area like chemistry they give you stipends as an incentive, as well as waved tuition at several great schools, to continue your education in chemistry. Is it the same with physics or math? Or is it more like an MBA, where competition is tough and have to practically find other resources to pay for grad school (i.e. loans)? Finally, if there are any physicist or mathematicians who come across this question, how gratifying has a career in such areas been thus far for you? What kind of hardships have you had to go through? Thank you!
For English native/proficient speakers-Can you help me polish my english in my scholarship cover letter? Outline why you would be a good candidate for a given fellowship. You should include your particular qualifications, skills and interest that are relevant to the award.Describe your academic qualifications and study objectives and how you plan to apply your studies. Describe your long-term career plans including your contribution to your community, your country or to the world. If applicable to the fellowship you are in, your background would be an evidence of your leadership capacity and /or potential. My letter I am a graduate student, currently enrolled in the Masters of Arts, Economics in International Development major. My graduate GPA is 4.I received my undergraduate degree from the British University in Egypt(BUE),Cairo, Egypt with a GPA of 3.7.I have received two scholarships during my undergraduate studies for distinguished performance. I am planning to complete 9 graduate credits this Fall semester and other nine next Spring semester. Currently I am working as an Economics Teaching Assistant in the BUE.I have aided in teaching a wide range of courses for example International Economics, Intermediate Macroeconomics, Introduction to Macroeconomics, Comparative economic systems, Economic history of the middle East and Principles of Law. I have excellent research skills (attached is my graduation thesis).I am familiar with the usage of various statistical and econometrical software such as Microfit, Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) and E-views. I also am well trained to the usage of various Microsoft office programs such as: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Access. I am fluent in English, Arabic and French languages. In 2009, I received bachelors in science with major in Economic. In 2011, I am expected to receive a bachelors of science in Accounting from Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt. My current Grade in Ain Shams University is Very Good. I am very passionate about economics. I have a dream: I wish to carry on the development of my country and all other developing countries in the world. I wish I can work for an International Developmental organizations and help those people who are in need of help. In order to do so professionally, I am willing to pursue my graduate studies in the field of development and get a PhD in the same field if possible. My main research interest is regarding the topic of underground economy in Egypt. I already started researching this area in my undergraduate thesis. I am looking forward to legalizing many of the industries that leak out of the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) just because they are illegal. This may sound unethical but hold on I have a very ethical point. Why should I be taxed on my insulin (which I can’t live without) and get drugs tax free?!I am extremely astonished how this topic is completely neglected in Egypt; a country where the shadow economy constitutes 77% of the GDP. Now my task is both interesting and challenging. Mainly, I am attempting to major a phenomenon that is hidden in nature in a country where the accuracy of data is extremely questionable. I hope to be given the chance to make my dreams come true. Not only would this scholarship give me a space to accomplish my individual dream but also my nation’s dream. Please help me in polishing my english. Also if you can advise me on anything else to add,I would be thankful. Thank you:)
Is a career in the Air Force a good option for me? I am a rising senior in high school and I'm planning on applying for college and (maybe) AFROTC. I have a 5.4 GPA and have a 2320 SAT and 800s on both my SAT subject tests. I also do AFJROTC at my school as well as a lot of other extracurriculars and leadership positions in various clubs. I'm in the International Baccalaureate program. I'm hoping to pursue an engineering career and receive a PhD in aerospace, but I don't really don't know if the Air Force is a good idea for me. I'm interested in a very research driven and good paying career. Would the Air Force be generous in scholarships? Would they let me get my PhD right after my Bachelor's?
TOEFL or IELTS? And Do I Prepare? If So, How Best? I've been listening to Radio New Zealand International for several months now; before that I used to be a BBC World Service listener; I also watch the NDTV 24/7, an Indian English language news channel. I've been studying international Mathematical texts for the last several years and correspond regualrly with native English speakers via e-mail. The language here is also entirely my own. With this kind of exposure to the English language, what kind of preparation do I need for TOEFL or IELTS? Which one should I preferably take? Which one has what advantages over the other? My goal is to secure admission with scholarship to a PhD in Maths program at some good university in the UK, the USA, Canada, Australia, or elsewhere in the developed world.
Returning to exchange host university as graduate student? I am an exchange student in Japan. My major is East Asian Studies and I have intention in returning after I get my Bachelors degree to Japan for graduate studies. What do you think are the merits for returning to the host exchange institution --- not as short-term exchange student; but as a regular graduate (masters and/or phd) student? Do you think there are any? Or do you think there are disadvantages? What do you think are the merits for the university? Of course I ought to think about the quality of the graduate programme the university has. But not thinking that for a second, do you think it's a good idea for any ex-exchange student to go back to their host university this time as a regular international student? And do you know of any universities with scholarships awarded to graduate-level students who were ex-exchange student?
Best way to get Doctors Degree? Ok, I'm 28. I decided to go to school. I'm a business professional and have been in sales management for the last 5 years. I decided to attend Penn State's University's World Campus at least until I get my Bachelors Degree. Naturally speaking, getting a degree in Business Admin would probably be the best fit. I decided that if I was going to go to school, I was going to go for the whole thing. I will commit myself to get a D.B.A. or a PhD. I was going to go with this degree path: Associate in Science in Business Administration Bachelor of Science in Business Master of Business Administration Doctorates in Business Administration or International Business I am American but have lived in both Mexico and Peru and I love to travel. Add that to my love of business, marketing, & sales, I feel the best career for me would be to pursue the Doctorates and open the door to working with large international firms as a consultant or something along those lines. I have a few questions. 1. Is it really possible to skip the Masters Degree and go straight into a Doctorates Program? 2. I've been reading that it is extremely difficult to get into a Doctorates Program for Business Administration. If true, should I consider changing degrees? 3. Would this be the correct degree path for me? Or should I choose other fields to vary my background? 4. Any other advice? 5. What about Scholarships. I don't know too much about them. How can I get one for school? Thank you all for your advice with my very long question. I'm just looking for some opinions so I can set my goals and my future.
Should I stay in law school? I am a first year law student who went to law school because I had a strong passion for Political Science and was told it would translate to law. While studying Political science became interested in international law and policy, so law school was a natural choice. Except, now that I'm there I find myself questioning my decision. Although I am learning, I'm not passionate about torts, contracts, briefs, civil procedure, etc. like I was about the socioeconomic conflicts within and between countries and people. And so, I'm wondering if I should stick it out in law school or just drop out and get a Masters or PHD in Political Science and International Relations? Please let me know your opinions on whether I should stay in law school or get a masters. Thank you! Also, I am on a scholarship so have relatively little debt.
Midlife Crisis: 44 Year Old Loser Who Has Never Had a Serious Romantic Partner? I wouldn't usually make a presence on a social networking site such as this, but I am getting desperate. I am feeling like a complete loser right now. I am a 44 year old professor of international relations at the Fletcher School at Tufts University and I have never had a girlfriend or romantic partner. Ever since Middle School, I have done nothing but read books and study. While my diligent academic course allowed me to achieve several degrees, it came at the cost of any remnants of a social life. I had very few friends in high school and never once had a girlfriend. The dismal pattern continued in college and I remained a loner. I went on a few "one time dates" with women in law school, but I knew they were simply "pity" outings. I am an ugly man, and I wouldn't expect very many women to be attracted to me - but I am getting desperate and possibly suicidal. My only achievements (all of them regrettably academic). Stanford University, B.A. University of Oxford (Rhodes Scholarship), M.Phil Princeton University, PhD Georgetown University Law Center, J.D. Institutions as a Professor: UC Berkley School of Law (Boalt Hall) University of Michigan - Ann Harbor Amherst College Tufts University (Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy). When I was in high school, I used to think that the popular kids who spent their nights partying were the real "losers." Now I realize that my thinking should have been reversed. What would you suggest?
relationship advice needed? Me and my girl friend had this fight many times so I needed your feed back on this. I am an engineering phD student doing research and teach at university (I am not graduated yet). My girl friend works in industry. My girl friend thinks what I do is worthless and she does not like me talk about it at all or sometimes pretends she is interested. Generally speaking she believes phds are one dimensional nerdy people who are afraid to work in industry. I worked my ass off to reach this stage. I am an international student and university gave me scholarship and monthly stipend to do this research Last time we spoke over phone she called me at 10 o clock in the morning and accused me of being asleep while I was in my office working on my project. After that I stopped calling her because I could not tolerate her negative comments and she did not call me either. What do u think I should do? She says I should not be so sensitive about her comments and no relationship is ideal and….
Should I go for Ph.D after MBA? PhD after an MBA MBA is a professional degree designed for career advancement; is it a very stupid idea to do a PhD right after the MBA? As a foreign student, I'm going to finish my MBA soon and intend to switch career from engineering to international business related industry. Though I have done very well in the MBA, I can't really get any job interview invitation, mainly because I do not have related experience. Fortunately or unfortunately, I'm given a full scholarship to futher study in engineering for PhD degree. Such opportunity is hard to come by given the fact that I'm an overseas student and they actually do it above and beyond the usual. This is a lifetime decision. It's about going into engineering or business/finance for the rest of my life. I guess I favor business after doing the MBA, but right now nothing seems to work out in term of job opportunity. Engineering is something I can do but perhaps I wish to have some other exposure as well. I'm not sure how to persuade myself to give up the scholarship. I'm not a top student and such opportunity is really precious for a foreign student. A part of me wanted to go into the business world, with great uncertainty and perhaps great future; another part of me long for stability which is right in front of me at the moment. It's a dilemma. Your opinion is appreciated.

PhD in the US vs. Australia? I am an international student currently in the US, and I hold masters degree in biomedical sciences. I have a huge dilemma related to my PhD. I was accepted at different places in the US and all of them are medical schools. However, I got a scholarship in Australia too. Now I am thinking what is the best opportunity for me? The Melbourne University is really good for biomedical sciences and I am really tempted to accept the offer. Please post your opinion about the question. Thanks, Mo
Are there any grants/scholarships available for international students? My friend wants to come and study in USA. He wants to get a MS or PHD in Health Informatics. I want to know if there are any grants or scholarships that my friend can apply to. If yes, where can I find more information. Also I heard (not sure if it is true) that some university do offer grants/scholarships to International students. If somebody knows which university do offer grants/scholarship for their Health informatics program, can you let me know.

Will i get stipends and tuition waiver? I recently get accepted for PhD program at Wright State University for fall 2011. In acceptance letter, it read " You may get support from your primary adviser". They are currently processing my admission. I am wondering whether i will get tuition waiver and average stipends or not. When i applied, I applied for the scholarships, assistant-ships and other financial support. They didn't asked me for financial source and funding. Do all PhD students in life science gets tuition waiver and stipends? Since i am International students, I am waiting for I20 and it may take 1 month to receive that. I don't have patience to wait for these answers. It would be tremendous help if anyone can provide answers and information.
America: How come foreigners come to this country to get educated despite cost, while americans drop out of it? I was wondering about this, and decided to put it on here so I can have other opinions as well. Please keep in mind that I am not pointing at any particular race, but at all races living in the United States of America. Here it is: It is very expensive to get an education in the states if you are an International students, but yet each years many people from all over the world ( poor countries included) are willing , despite the high cost of an education in america, to come to the states so they can have a better education. We also have to keep in mind that most of these international students are not allowed to work in the states at first, but yet despite the difficulties involved and despite studying in poor conditions, most of them will manage to get higher degrees such as PHD, Masters, Bachelors. As an example just to cite a few, India: most Indians are doctors or own their own business, live in posh areas, drive great cars that they payed for.. ( and even when Indian parents are not educated they will sacrifice themselves to give a better education to their children and this goes for the mexicans as well) , most Nigerians are lawyers, most mexicans are doctors ( dentist), or teachers, most South Americans such as Brazilians are interior designers, and the list goes on.... Now Americans, we have a much better advantages , such as loans, grants, scholarship... but yet a higher number of americans will drop out of school at a very early age. Some americans are not even able to speak proper english ( please do not think I am being racist here, because many whites or blacks can not really write a proper sentence on a piece of paper, or even speak it, goes to say that being uneducated has nothing to do with color) most people, are happy to rip off the welfare system as long as they are able to do so. Some people think it is ok not to work, and rather stay home and watch tv, play games all day long, and some, even based on the fact that they have no source of income, still find a joy into having lot and lot of children. America is it not time to wake up? Please keep in mind that every opinions are welcome
Doctorate Brown, MIT, Cornell, etc: chances for nontraditional student? OKAY long winded but here we go I am preparing to apply to a few schools for PhD track-- will be looking for fields involving political science, human civilization, identity, globalization, organization, semiotics, information/convergence theories, these kinds of things. My CV, kinda: I am 27, female, USA. I graduated high school a year early with honors, a scholarship, and a handful of star AP scores; left home at 17. I worked to support myself and studied history and biology at three different junior colleges (in Indiana, NorCal, Texas) and then finished history major/ bio minor at TX Woman's University. Not best grades for overall BS: they started very high in first years then staggered in my last couple years due to some unfortunate times/working two jobs/growing up. I think cumulative is barely 3.0, but the coursework is interesting and elegantly chosen. There is a strong theme of science and civilization throughout the transcripts. I have maintained active interest in physics since high school, especially regarding cosmology and the question of gravity within quantum mechanics. Other interests are semiotics, globalization, convergence and evolution of sciences, civilizations, organizations and systems etc. My grad work is international relations: have covered political theory, int'l law, economics, int'l conflict management, etc. I stay informed in global affairs, I write well and conduct outstanding research. I have also been working on a personal thesis project on the side for about six years. I can handle long term commitments. I have a TEFL cert and spent a year teaching ESL in South Korea to pay my way thru grad school- am soon finishing the MDY program with Norwich University. (I take comps in a couple months, grad in June.) The grad studies are 6hr- I think time and a half? On top of 40hr/wk job it was very difficult but I persevered. My grades are not fantastic, but I will finish Norwich with 3.4 or so. I am indeed learning to prioritize, to manage time, these things. I am improving my marks steadily, and my professors think I'm wonderful. This is not a bad GPA, and I can choose from five or six outstanding references (physicist, international person of jurisprudence, Nobel laureate, like this,) who would stand firmly behind me, but I am concerned because I do not have GRE. I took state high school physics/chem/sciences & social studies teaching exams within the past two years, earning a "Highly Qualified" distinction. So in other words I can teach these subjects at high school. These are both difficult comprehensive exams (some 21 subjects altogether). Norwich accepted me despite grades and no GRE, based upon my recommendations, statement of purpose, essay, the teacher qualification exams, and undergrad coursework. I never took calculus, although I did stats. Math is no problem and I wouldn't need to study, but only if it's in context, as in a physics, chem or biological/physiological equation. I feel like GRE is an unnecessary measure for me, other than, for instance, a measure of my willingness to eke out evermore time to reteach myself the subject of 10th grade geometry, or waste several painful hours answering piddly-diddly essay questions and a random assortment of word puzzles; crafted by institutionalized educators who make it a point to deceive people (as if trickery and confusion somehow make it more meaningful than an overstuffed grade-school-style vocabulary test.) An exam like this may be good and useful for some students, especially as a measure of prerequisite understanding before going into a focused field. However the GRE requirements for the programs I am considering are all "General GRE," and not subject specific. I don't want to reinvent the wheel here when I'm already on rollerskates. I've already accomplished substantial depth in several fields. Should I go ahead and apply to the schools that I feel are right for me, explain my GRE situation as respectfully and rationally as possible, and hope for the best? I do not wish to come across snooty ... I'm exhausted and the idea of studying for GRE seems trite and proftless. I think grovelling and kissing rump is a little bit beneath me at this point; either I'm right for the program or I am not. If they tell me I have to take GRE, then I'll do it. I just dunno if they would automatically cancel me for not having that item. Okay any criticism concern advice??? Best to you, thanks for reading. :o)
what are my chances for grad school at MIT? I would appreciate it if you could comment on my undergraduate stats/ likelihood of my acceptance into the listed schools' graduate programs. I have one more semester so the stats are bound to change slightly, and I am yet to take the GRE. undergraduate major: biomedical engineering at Ga Tech [3rd program in the nation] - Overall GPA: 3.72/4.0 ; major GPA: 3.9 - research experience: 2 years (1.5 in an interdisciplinary lab); anticipating 2 publications with coauthorship status (after graduate apps are due, unfortunately) - 3 undergraduate research awards; 1 NSF-funded scholarship - poster presentation at undergraduate conference - continuing research as part of Ga Tech iGEM team (international competition for genetically engineered machines) - vice president of a religious organization, and in the process of starting a volunteering organization I am considering a wide range of engineering programs to apply for PhD Bioengineering/biophysics/mechanical/electrical engineering departments- hoping for an interdisciplinary project to work on... My schools of interest are John Hopkins, MIT, Caltech, Stanford. I would really love to hear about some of their renowned labs and professor, graduate student life, etc... Thank You!
Am I doing the right thing? I was on birth control and got pregnant (it seems to be genetic - I've had issues with bc in the past and have tried about half a dozen or more different types - and my mom was on bc for 3/4 of my siblings). From the instant I saw the positive there were no options, I was keeping the baby. My partner is less supportive of the idea, so we went to counselling over the options, with my decision remaining the same. He was still trying to talk me into termination or adoption up to a month after I had told him I made my decision. I've asked for a break in the relationship, for both of us. I understand it's hard for him to deal with (as it is me, but he's a selfish ***), so I've tried to be patient of his anti-everything's that he's been saying. Our situations are a bit different. I'm 27 and an international postgraduate student, with a flexible schedule and supportive supervisors, friends and family (although halfway across the globe). He's 25 lives >6 hours away, does not have a flexible schedule, has little support from his family (his dad is still pushing for termination and I'm midway through my 14th week!), and most of his friends are younger than him and they're all the partying type. He thinks my decision will ruin his life. I do understand one point he makes, that he won't be there all of the time due to the long distance, but I have offered ways around this, and he's not willing to compromise; moreover, anytime that he would be able to see his child is better than none. So, after a week of not talking - longest we have gone (been together a year and half) - we spoke today and he was (as he has been) very rude and childish (name-calling, blame-game, etc.). I told him I thought he was and is acting immature, and he retorted that I am being immature for keeping the child. This is never the situation I envisioned, but I want to make it work. It really sucks having my family so far away. I'm on a scholarship, so I don't have much money, but I do get 3 months paid maternity leave, and my supervisors have offered for me to defer my PhD for another 6 months after that (if I want to go home and see my family for a while). I really feel like I'm doing the right thing, but then I just worry. And, I don't know if he's still just in shock or really is a prick about it? Ladies, thank you. WiM, wow. I have tried to honestly talk to him, and I have listened to his concerns, but they didn't seem to be enough to terminate a pregnancy. I mentioned I had complications from bc, and part of that was not knowing if I could get pregnant...I was too scared to ever get the dye tests. It was an awkward situation from the get-go because he was on holiday and I was already 10.5 weeks when he was back in town. I've tried to have an open mind and listen to his pains, but it's so hard when he's just putting me down all of the time. I want to hear him, but he just stresses me out and my hormones are everywhere!!!
How to find a PhD Scholarship in USA? Hello everybody, I am an international student studying in Europe, and I am now beginning to search for a fully-funded PhD position in economics in the USA. I can see that searching for scholarships in the internet is not of much help becuase, unlike those from Europe, vacant PhD positions in the USA are not announced via the media. What do you think is the best way to get PhD funding, especially those targeted at developing country citizens? Do you think direct contact with possible-supervisors is the best way? Thank you in advance for your responses.

Please keep in mind that every opinions are welcome @Chukles, all of your facts are wrong, very few percentage of international students can afford a private school, most of them will attend public school because that is all they can afford but yet will still make it to the top Tax Free? where do you get this? get you go to wall mart and ask for a tax free coupon? can you go to a restaurant and ask for tax free? learn the facts before making any comments Tax free is for visitors, not for people who lives in the states and have an home adress because at that point they become residents of a given states.

Ryde on: where do you get this imformation from? Get your facts straight first, no tax payers money is used to pay for any international student. In fact they have to pay 3 times what a regular american will pay because they are out of country
