Why do I have to pay a registration fee when I apply for a Free Government Grant? I wanted to apply for a Free Government Grant, but I had to pay a fee. Why? I thought the grant was free.

Is American Solutions Center a scam? I am supposed to pay a 300 dollar fee and receive a grant afterwards.? I want to start a landscaping company and this would be the best way for me to do this financially. Some things that sound too good to be true usually are. I obviously can't receive a loan for the amount of money I need to start my business. If it is legit and real 300 dollars will be glad to pay, but something just seems fishy. I read somewhere where 97% of online government grant programs are fake and just take your money and I want to be guarenteed that I am not another to be ripped off. How do I find a grant for a disabled woman to start a business; that doesn't cost a fee to apply for? I am disabled & am very low income, I am trying to buy a 34 acre property that contains a modern dog kennel & 4 rental homes. I want to raise toy breed dogs as well as offer grooming & boarding services. It is my plan to provide room & board (1 of the rentals) to a couple who would be my kennel attendants. Everytime I search for grants that say "free" there is always some type of charge (ie:shipping,processing, etc) Is there any kind of assistance that doesn't cost money? tuition fee & goverment grant HELP? Hiya Everyone! I am 22 years old and back in 2005 I started my degree but after completing and passing 1st yr, I had few family problems and did not go back to 2nd year but now I would like to go back to university and complete my course. But will I still be entitled to tuition fee & grant as my circumstances have not changed since and I did complete and pass first year because someone told me if you take a break and return you are note entitled to any financial help but I don't see why as I did not waste government money in the first year as I did pass it and I have the certificate conforming the pass. What are all the jobs you are given after studying in Singapore Universities under tuition fee grant? Is it a good idea to take the tuition fee grant from Singapore Univesity, execute a bond to work in Singapore for a period of 3 years and study in universities like NUS, NTU etc., I would like to have the feed back by the students themselves. We hear all the time about free federal grants for small businesses, but nobody knows where to go to find them. The ones we have found you have to pay a shipping and handling fee, write the grant, then they charge so much a month after that.
How do I find out if the government grant company I just sent money to is a scam? I applied on line for a government grant. The next day they called me to tell me I was approved. I had to print out and sign a contract and send it with a cashiers check, for the grant writing fee, via express mail. Then call the customer service number and tell them the tracking number. A few hours later the agent taking care of me called me back to confirm the tracking number. I was told by them that I would recieve a packet in the mail in about 4 weeks. Included in the packet was a questionare to answer and be sure to sign with origional signature so the government knows it is an actual person recieving the grant. I was even given a PIN number I would need to access my account . If I don't get it within 4 to 6 weeks I am to call and they will track it down. They congratulated us again on getting the grant. They did not ask for personal information,checking account info or even soc. sec. number. It sounds legitimate but I've never done this before and am just now learning of scams.
Can a court fee waiver be granted and then later dismissed because of a retirement account? I recently filed for chapter 7 bankruptcy and was granted by the courts the waiver fee off $300. I later get a call from the attorney that I hired that I now owe him the $300 dollars for the court fee because I have an IRA account with a few thousand dollars. A company calls you up, knows your name, your phone number, your address, sometimes even the bank you bank with ... and they ask for your checking account number to deposit the funds there. The company who called me claimed to be American Standard Financial (831) 303.2004 or (866) 569.2573 (though they have called from MANY numbers and can go by any name). What do you think about this? How do I get a grant without paying money? Grants are everywhere but the strange thing is they must be invisible because no one can ever find out where they are or where to apply. Financial aid only offer me fee waiver but what about pell grant? I just received my financial aid award letter, and it only stated that I receive a fee waiver of $360 for fall 2010 and $360 for 2011 spring, but where's my pell grant notification? What will the BOG fee waiver fully do for me? I got a BOG fee waiver beginning of school, so far it has waived my enrollment and health care fees. Just recently my Federal Pell grant came into play. Now how will these things work together? Does the BOG pay for my classes, too? Or does it only pay for those two things? Or with the Federal Pell in effect now, will the BOG become null? (UK) Do the maintance grant & loan come in all at once at the start of year or are they divided into terms? So i'm starting university soon and to anyone who's already been through this. This is about the loan and grant.. I know fees go straight to the uni. For example, if i'm getting a £3000 loan and £3000 maintenance grant, will the money be split into terms so i get 2,000 every term or will the whole £6,000 come in my account @ the start of the year?

Using the PELL Grant to pay Fedral Taxes? Hi I know the PELL grant is meant for educational expenses to be considered tax free money. I used $2100 of my pell grant to pay for a used car. I know i will have to declare it and pay taxes on it. But can i use my PELL grant to pay for the HR block fee, state and fedral taxes. If i do that, i'll just declare the amount paid on my 2008 return. Is that legal?
