The only problem that i have is that i am a single mum on benefits, and am worried how i will afford to support my 2 kids while studying. Has annyone got any idea of the loans/grants etc that i may be entitled to while at uni? thanx in advance. I live in the UK

- Here you have all of the information you need, and the best thing is that you don't have to pay it back. Best of Luck and Look Bless!!! Gaby
- You'll be entitled to a loan to pay for the tuition fees, a loan to help you live & a grant, you may also be entitled to a bursary from the uni you're attending & may be even a hardship grant. You'll have to pay these loans back if you are earning more that £15k a year oh & remember that you have to reapply at the start of each new year. It's a lot of really hard work, expect to spend at least eight hours a day on your course, tutors like that, treat it like a full time job that you are paying for. Good luck. P.S. My Mum managed to do it as a widow with 7 children. It can be done.
- my partner is going back to uni and we have a kid under 1 and a crippling mortgage. It depends really on what you are doing (an undergraduate cours/ potgraduate/ PGCE etc...) you'll need to contact your Local Library board. you may get a grant and your fees paid for. For a bursary you may go through a means tested bursary. What this is, is they take all your detals into account , i.e. you are a single parent, 2 kids, childcare costs, mrtgage/rent etc... i'm not too sure. Depending on how much money you recieve from bursaries/ grants WILL affect your benefits. the govt are more willing to help students gain a beer belly. but the money should mre than meet the benefits and your university should have a creche. contact them immediately, most hav a waiting list. hope this helps
- List of free government grants. Billions availale. Never Repay!!! www.freegovntgrants.blogspot.com
- You will get a grant of around £7000 per year paid quarterly but off of that you have to pay rent - if you stay on income support and do it through the European social fund you will continue your income support with a little extra but not pay rent.
- Good on you, is the best thing you can do (study) try this www.studentloanchoice.biz or www.estudentloans.biz or ww.slc.co.uk/ I hope you enjoy it
