Grants and Scholarships

Where are the scholarships and grants for graduate students?

I'm currently a minority grad student, a woman over 30, and going into the health field. You would think there is all this money out there for me, but unfortunately, I've found over the last year, that has not been the case. Not sure if the current downturn of the economy has effected this or not, but I'm having a hard time. Many of the grants and scholarships are for undergrads, and for public schools. I've been to fastweb, scholarship.com, and even what my school offers. Any other sites that I'm missing here? Keep in mind, I already have loans, and am not able to get more.

  1. financial aid for graduate students are called fellowships. there are a lot of fellowships out there for minority students going into the sciences. a lot of programs offer fellowships such as NSF, NIH, NASA, MERCK, UNCF, and others. the one problem that you are going to find in finding fellowships now is that the deadlines have already passed. but you can get information about them now and prepare to fill them out for next year. also you can request to be a graduate research assistant or teachers assistant for funding as well at your university. you can also check with your university to see if there are other ways in funding graduate students as well. hope i helped
