Grants and Scholarships

In the past, did small business grants really exist?

I have been to grants.gov, sba, and other places. It does not seem like real business grants exist. There are grants out there for helping empower pakistan or grants for building photon emitters for the army but no real down to earth grants for your average small business. What's up with that? Were there ever any real small business grants?

1. Small business grants did and still do exist. You can find them more often today in the form of contests sponsored by large corporations such as Visa, American Express, Oscar Mayer (food manufacturer), and Oxygen Network (broadcast media). 2. Go to sba.com for help. and Yes there are grants for the small business owners, my sister is a beautician and she received one. Keep trying, one will come your way:)
