  1. u reminded me, i need to sort my one out aswell. im 19 and going onto uni now aswell. the new forms are issued this month, go to your local borough place or get it from ur college or 6form.
  2. they abolished the grants the year i started uni and intro'd student loans. great when u take em out, but pretty bad when u see the interest building up each month (about £30...) not happy. i dont think they will issue grants again...the government rather spend the dosh on bombing countries for oil...but that's what i think.... (ooh, touchy!) anyway, if they start doing grants, i want my loan wiped. its only fair...(!)
  3. You can apply for grants, awards, scholarships, bursaries and the like from the university you're applying to. With the student loans people you get your tuition fees (about £3000) then you also get a maintenance loan for accommodation and food (and drink!). it varies from person to person depending on your financial situation and where you plan to study. Most uni's will have a bursary office, or a form on their website which you submit and then they filter out the people who really deserve financial help. Hope you get it sorted, i had to fill out the loan application last year-It's a massive form!!
  4. Hi well im 24 and starting uni this year and i can get the grants go to your local education authority or student finance website to apply. Best of luck with course.x
  5. Yes loans and grants are available, dont know what the cut off is but i have loan and maintenance grant and i'm 38. So dont worry, you can only apply from the march or april before course starts in sept/oct.
