College Scholarships?
I am currently a college freshman, and I want to apply for some scholarships. Can anyone out there help me? First of all I am confused, although some deadlines have passed will they be the same for the following year? Should I be looking for scholarships for a college sophmore or stick with freshman? Does anyone know of any really good sites that offer scholarships? I am also interested in grants too? Really need help with this, cuz its just me and my mom and I want to help her as much as possible. I will apply to 100 different scholarships if I have to. All advice is most definetly appreciated.

- did you apply for federal student aid? if you did not do this - you should have. it is probably to late for your freshman year - but you need to do it for your sophmore year. Go to this website - it may not be to late for this year: http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/
- here is a link it will hook you up wit some good scholorships and info here it is www.fastweb.com I hope that helps !
- FAFSA is a great opportunity for those with low to middle income; it analyzes your financial situation and gives you grants, but it has deadlines. Check the website to determine when the deadlines are for your state. Also, go to fastweb.com and register. It will ask for all your information so it can search through thousands of scholarships and find ones that suit your profile. It's a great way to discover scholarships... it will list deadlines, scholarship amount, conditions for applying, and so forth. Hope this helps!

- There are many, many scholarships out there. All you have to do is google it and you'll see. There's some for people who own cats, brown eyed people, blond haired people. You name it it's out there. Most just require a short essay, and others just a picture or an entry.
- That's a lot of work, applying to 100 scholarships. If you are willing to work that hard to help your mother out, you might be better off getting a part time job. It will provide you guaranteed money, a scholarship application guarantees you nothing. A part time job will also look real good on your resume when you graduate. There are many businesses that will offer flexible schedules for college students, especially in the malls, and fast food places.
