What kind of times do people usually have who get college scholarships?

Hey! My dream is to go to college in America but I definitely wont be able to afford it. I looked up swimming scholarships in google and there are loads of sites saying it's really easy but I don't believe them. Im an Irish swimmer and just wondering what times people have who get scholarships. I'll need the times in metres because we don't swim in yards. My no1 stroke is back crawl. Thanks! Im a girl!

It really depends on on your times and what college you are going to. Division III swimming schools have times that arent all to far fetched. If you provide some times I can tell you where you stand. For now i will give you a sample DIII college with their results of their swimming. Er well idk in meters, well my neighbor is going to college on a swimming scholarship she swims a fifty free (crawl) in 24.28 seconds. Unless you are really good im not sure what to tell you because heck yeah its expensive enough to go to school over here without other people like you coming in! No offense but if you haven't noticed America isnt having the best time right now. And i don't know who told you it would be easy because of course you will be competing with plenty other kids trying to make the cut. look up first colony swim teem on google, they are a very competitive team and they have some records in meters. Sorry for all the sarcasm but thats my dream as well! except i dont want to swim all my life. but i know thats alot of other peoples dream as well. Good luck in your endeavors.
USAswimming.com gives you cuts for elite level meets while Collegeswimming.com gives you cuts for Divisions I, II and III email with any questions It will be easier to get a scholarship in division three
k to get a full scholarship in America for swimming your times would of had to been able to score in the previouse years NCAA championships, if you are a boy that means a 47 in the 1 back which converts to a 57 for a 50m pool and a 53 25 meter pool and in the 2 back a 143 whcih converts to a 202 for a 50 meter pool and a 155 for 25 meter pool. But if you have good grades and are a good swimmer you can get a partial scholarship, also colleges from America like to get kids from out of America so you have a better chance than most kids. Good luck. Its certainly possible to not only get a full athletic scholarship but also financial aid. If your times are too slow for a D1A scholarship try the smaller schools. There is some excellent general information on that topic at www.t1teacher.com
